Who we are
HISTORY
SOUTHEASTERN is an independent private educational institution offering a wide range of programs in more than 60 concentrations.
Ever since 1982, we developed 3:2 programs focusing on Engineering, Information Technologies, Biomedical and Manufacturing Engineering, and appointed talented and experienced faculty (100% doctoral level) to deliver them. Whereas only 30 students enrolled in SOUTHEASTERN’s first academic year, in the first decade of its operations, an ever-increasing number of students from SOUTHEASTERN Europe became interested in American postsecondary education. At the same time that SOUTHEASTERN’s student body exponentially expanded, so did the number of academic programs offered. For more than two decades, SOUTHEASTERN also facilitates programs for Veterans, which are supported by the US Federal Government.
Over the past 40 years, SOUTHEASTERN’s instructors and students have formulated many devices, systems and laboratory techniques that have made a substantive and transformative contribution to their respective fields/areas of interest, and have thus transformed the research character of SOUTHEASTERN.
Today, we are celebrating 40 years and we are proud of our 18.755 graduates, and their individual stories of success.

The objectives of SOUTHEASTERN are to equip students with an excellent education, enabling them to compete successfully in the European and particularly SOUTHEASTERN European job markets; to adopt productive, and conducive roles in society as professionals and intellectuals; and to embark on upper level curriculum programs of their choice.
Through our admissions system, the level of course offerings, the emphasis on General Education course requirements, orientation and academic counseling sessions, SOUTHEASTERN projects the image of a leading institution in higher education in SOUTHEASTERN Europe. Its success in meeting objectives can be measured by the number of upper level curriculum students who have found employment in their chosen professional fields and by the number admitted to prestigious European and American universities for upper level curriculum studies.
In recent years, the comparative advantage of American education in the global marketplace has dramatically changed due to rapid advancements in communication and information technologies thereby precipitating a truly global business environment. Pronounced political and economic transformations across Eastern Europe and the prospect of the European Union comprising 27 countries with a population of 500 million are creating new opportunities for American companies and new challenges for managers educated according to American higher education standards.
Bold steps are taken at SOUTHEASTERN to prepare managers and specialists for competition in the international marketplace through its high-quality education and the importance placed on individual development.
OBJECTIVES

GOALS
SOUTHEASTERN recognizes that the primary goals of the instructional program are to increase the ability of students to learn, to think critically, to express their ideas clearly and cogently, to understand themselves, their culture and society, both past and present, and to appreciate the multicultural diversity of their world. Students must also demonstrate competency in analytical skills and the methods of intellectual inquiry and develop an appreciation of aesthetic values.

PHILOSOPHY
The educational philosophy of SOUTHEASTERN is based upon maintaining close ties between faculty and students as a way of ensuring the optimization of the learning process while carefully counseling them in the choice of a study plan which not only complies with SOUTHEASTERN requirements but also reflects at the same time their own personal aspirations. Emphasis is placed upon promoting flexibility in the development of new programs consistent with the never-ending evolution of knowledge.
